Iowa FFA State Secretary lauds organization’s leadership development
An Iowa FFA state officer says the organization provides one-of-a-kind leadership opportunities.
State Secretary Lauren Beyer says FFA is poised to bring in the next generation of ag leaders. “You get to travel and meet with so many people,” she said. “My connections and my networking has expanded immensely. I’ve learned how to communicate with students, advisors and industry professionals. I would highly recommend a state office, or even FFA in general, to any individual who may be considering.”
She tells Brownfield her advice to high school students getting involved in FFA is, “Say yes to every opportunity that you are given. Just being able to open your eyes and try something, even if it’s outside of your comfort zone, will really expand your knowledge and really give you life skills that will truly last a lifetime.”
Beyer is a freshman at Iowa State University majoring in animal science. She was originally from the East Buchanan FFA Chapter in Winthrop.
She spoke to Brownfield on Tuesday at the 96th Iowa FFA Convention at the Iowa State University campus.
