ISDA awards grants to grow livestock sector

The Indiana State Department of Agriculture has awarded more than $70,000 in matching grant funds to projects to promote and grow Indiana’s livestock sector.

Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch says they are proud to support the projects as the livestock industry is a driving force in the state’s economy and is critical to many communities.

The grants were awarded to non-profit organizations and associations that were eligible to receive a 50 percent match by the state and can be used for livestock promotion or market development.

The recipients are: Franklin County 4-H Association, Illinois Indiana Bison Association, Indiana Beef Cattle Association, Indiana Forage Council Inc., The Indiana Junior Hereford Association, Indiana Milk Quality Professionals, Inc., Indiana Milking Shorthorn Society, Indiana Pork Producers Association, Indiana State Board of Animal Health, Indiana State Fair Foundation Inc., Maconaquah FFA, Maconaquah Middle School and North Putnam Dollars for Scholars.
