Ivy Tech Community College will soon be offering more precision ag opportunities

Ivy Tech Community College has plans to expand their precision ag program. The college received approval from the Indiana State Budget Committee last month to retrofit a building that will house its precision agriculture equipment technology and diesel technology programs.

The $2.9 million renovation will take place at the southern Vigo County Industrial Park and the Terre Haute campus received a $1.2 million grant from the Economic Development Administration.

The renovation will create more opportunities to meet the needs of the growing ag industry. Coursework will be offered in areas like geospatial technology related to crop planting, fertilization, and harvesting.

The next step in the project is for Governor Eric Holcomb to sign the plan.
