John Deere agrees to 10-year right-to-repair deal in FTC antitrust lawsuit

John Deere and Company has reached an agreement with the Federal Trade Commission and five states in a right-to-repair antitrust lawsuit.

In a release, John Deere says the commitment ensures more transparency, access, and flexible repair options are available for customers and service providers.

The settlement requires the company for the next 10 years to provide the same repair resources used by authorized dealers to farmers and independent repair shops under the supervision of the FTC.

FTC and the states of Illinois, Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin argued Deere unlawfully held monopoly power for repair services on their equipment, which led to service delays and higher costs for farmers.
