John Deere cuts more workers in Waterloo
John Deere says it’s laying off more production workers at its Waterloo Operations.
In a statement to Brownfield, John Deere says approximately 110 employees will be placed on indefinite layoff effective January 3rd. The company says challenging market conditions and reduced demand for equipment led to the decision.
“To remain globally competitive, we must continue making workforce adjustments as needed to our manufacturing footprint,” the company said.
John Deere says its net income is down $3 billion in fiscal year 2024. Reports indicate Deere has cut more than 1,700 jobs in Iowa this year.
