Johnson Optimistic House Will Pass Year-Round E15 Bill

A U.S. Congressman from South Dakota says he’s optimistic the full House can advance a bill supporting nationwide, year-round E15.

Dusty Johnson tells Brownfield…

“There’ll be a standalone vote on E15 on the floor. We’re going to pass that. We’re also going to pass a farm bill. And then once those things both come out of the chamber, we’re going to connect them together. And so they’ll go over to the Senate as one piece of legislation.”

He says this helps the U.S. House address several bills this week.

“I think the important thing is to get E15 across the finish line. Whether it rides on one bus or the other, I think that’s of less interest to Americans. They just want to make sure we’re able to use that great homegrown fuel and further American energy dominance.”

Johnson, a member of the Rural Domestic Energy Council, calls the move a “merve,” an unusual approach that merges two bills together after passing once they leave the House.
