June a pivotal month for Senate reconciliation package
The U.S. Senate plans to have the text of its reconciliation package out by Friday.
Iowa Republican Chuck Grassley tells Brownfield a lot of work remains.
“Just briefed this morning on the international tax parts of the 2017 Tax Bill and some changes to be made there, and nothing really definitive there yet. Then we talked about wind energy at my 8:30 meeting, and nothing really definitive on that yet.”
He says the Senate is committed to passing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by the end of the month.
“We’re going to have the text out on Friday, and then there will be a whole week next week for peoples’ reaction to it. And then it’s going to be up for debate and final passage the last week of June.”
The reconciliation package passed by the House and being considered by the Senate includes increases to reference prices and cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
