June corn grind, soybean crush both up on year

Corn grind and soybean crush numbers reflect the solid demand for ethanol and soybean products.

The USDA says 466.708 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production in June 2026, down 1% from May due to slightly more narrow margins, but up 4% from June 2025 thanks to domestic and export demand.

Distillers dried grains with solubles production was 1,819,647 tons, a gain of 3% on the month, but a loss of 3% on the year.

218 million bushels of soybeans were crushed during June, an increase of 5 million from the previous month and 21 million bushels from last year, pushed by demand and solid margins.

Soybean meal and oil stocks were larger than a year ago because of higher production.

The USDA’s next round of supply and demand numbers is out August 12th.
