Kansas crop conditions largely unchanged as harvest approaches

Corn and soybean conditions were largely unchanged from week to week.

According to USDA’s weekly conditions report, 48% of the crop is rated good to excellent, up slightly from last week. The USDA reports 36% of the crop is at the mature stage, with 96% in the dough stage and 76% in the dent stage.

Soybeans are rated 61% good to excellent, with 86% of the crop setting pods and 11% dropping leaves, both near the five-year average.

Sorghum condition is 46% good to excellent, with 14% of the crop at the mature stage, 93% of the crop headed and 53% coloring.
