Kansas winter wheat harvest ahead of pace

The winter wheat harvest in Kansas is nearing completion.

USDA says as of Sunday the state’s harvest hit 92% completion, up from 80% last week and well above the 72% five-year average.

The state’s corn crop is rated 65% good to excellent, up from 57% a week ago, though 47% is silking.

Soybeans are rated 58% good to excellent with 17% of the crop blooming.
