Kingery focused on export markets in appointment to U.S. Trade Advisory Committee
The CEO of Indiana Corn and Soybean says continuing to grow exports will help U.S. farmers improve profitability.
Courtney Kingery tells Brownfield, “60% of US exports are concentrated in just four markets, which are China, Mexico, Canada and the EU.”
She was recently appointed to the Agricultural Advisory Committee for Trade in Grains, Feed Oilseeds, and Planting Seeds, which advises the USDA on policy and programs to improve global access to markets.
“What I hope to bring is a focus around diversifying exports to other markets to reduce a dependency on those few,” she says.
Kingery and six other industry leaders will serve on the committee until December 2028.
“The US is seeing our highest exports on record so far through November of 2024 of 1.72 billion gallons of ethanol exports, for example,” she says. “Relationships are really key to this.”
She says increasing access to global markets remains a priority.
