Late fall moisture beneficial for Iowa soils

Recent rain and snow helped replenish soil moisture in Iowa.

USDA’s last weekly crop update for the season says topsoil moisture conditions are rated 66 percent adequate to surplus, and subsoil moisture levels are 45 percent adequate to surplus.

The moisture slowed field activities, with reports of fall tillage and fertilizer and manure applications wrapping up.
