Leftwich to lead Ag Department transition

The Republican staff director for the Senate Agriculture Committee will lead President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team at the Agriculture Department.  Joel Leftwich, longtime adviser to Pat Roberts the Chairman of the Senate Ag Committee, will lead the transition. 

Last week, Michael Torrey, who had been serving as the transition adviser for USDA, stepped down because of a five-year lobbying ban announced by the new administration.
