Less than 3 days for Ohio fieldwork

Ohio farmers had limited planting windows last week with warmer and wetter conditions.

The USDA says corn is 46 percent planted and 35 percent emerged, while 41 percent of soybeans are planted and 24 percent have emerged.  Planting progress for both crops was behind last year, but ahead of the five-year average

Winter wheat in Ohio is 98 percent jointed and 70 percent headed with condition 73 percent good to excellent.

The first cutting of alfalfa is 26 percent finished.
