Maximizing yields in 2025
A commercial agronomist says investing in new technology could help farmers improve their yields in 2025.
Precision Planting’s Jason Webster says using the right tools lays the groundwork to maximizing profitability.
“We’ve got to do the best job of planting that crop, getting the right consistent depth, the right downforce,” he says. “That sets the stage up for high yields. We’ve got that technology and I think we have to have it to set the stage up for success.”
He tells Brownfield he’s reminding growers to keep the current ag economy in mind this planting season.
“With the price of corn being where it’s at, soybeans where it’s at, and the elevated costs we have, we’ve got to know our numbers,” he says. “We’ve got to know the things that are making us money on a per acre basis and we’ve got to continue doing more of it.”
Brownfield spoke to Webster at this year’s Commodity Classic in Denver, Colorado.
