May closing with colder-than-normal outlook
A state meteorologist says a change in weather is expected across the Great Lakes.
Michigan’s Jeff Andresen says the jet stream is moving further south.
“A little bit of a break here in this warmer than normal pattern that we’ve been in with cooler than normal mean temperatures, also an active storm track,” he says.
He says cool weather is expected to stay through the end of May and bring more precipitation.
“We’ll have some challenges,” he notes. “Another way to look at that too is of course some areas needed the moisture and that we should get.”
The latest weather forecasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration suggest June could bring warmer and drier conditions.
