May ethanol exports drop from April
U.S. ethanol exports fell sharply from April to May.
The Renewable Fuels Association says May ethanol exports were the largest ever for the month at 154.4 million gallons, but still 28% below April’s near record, primarily due to a smaller number of markets receiving shipments.
Canada took the top slot for the 38th month in a row, followed by the Philippines, the European Union, South Korea, and Singapore.
Exports of distillers dried grains with solubles were 1.01 million tons, 4% more than the previous month, mainly to Mexico, the E.U., and South Korea.
For the year to date, U.S. ethanol exports are 43% ahead of the 2023 pace at 816.9 million gallons, while DDGS exports are 18% faster than a year ago at 4.93 million tons.
