Michigan 4-H Foundation excited for new funding opportunities

Newly released Michigan 4-H license plates will be able to increase investments in youth programming.

Michigan 4-H Foundation Director Abbey Miller tells Brownfield, “Any driver can go to their local Secretary of State’s office and purchase the plate, and those funds will go back to support Michigan 4-H across the state.”

She says funds will be used to support new and existing programming needs, like 4-H Exploration Days on the campus of Michigan State University this summer.

The foundation is currently accepting applications for mini grants to support new initiatives, shooting sports, horticultural efforts and gardening.

“We’re really looking forward to 4-H’s new initiatives, just with a focus on making sure that our youth are work and life ready,” Miller shares.

More than 137,000 youth participate in the Michigan 4-H with the support of 9,000 volunteers.
