Michigan FFA Association charters 6 new programs
The Michigan FFA Association continues to expand agricultural education programs across the state.
President Hunter Bognar tells Brownfield, “We’re really accepting so many new things in agriculture with the constant changes and improvements on technology.”
“We’ve just become more of an inclusive, inviting organization to really try and push that new future era of agriculture,” he says.
More than 20 chapters have been added in the past five years. Bognar says six new schools are joining the roster at this week’s state convention.
“Being able to see both of those in the rural and urban areas has been very, very eye-opening,” he shares.
From the Upper Peninsula to intercity Detroit, new and rechartered chapters include Delton Kellogg, Detroit Randolph Tech Center, Reese, Rudyard, St. Johns, and Whitehall.
Bognar calls agricultural education a gateway for career exploration and says their organization helps anchor a future workforce.
