Michigan harvest pushing through wet conditions

Michigan farmers were finally able to make headway on harvest last week despite moisture in corn above the five-year average.

The USDA says corn is now rated at 47 percent good to excellent with 95 percent mature, and 40 percent harvested for grain.

Soybeans are 70 percent harvested, still behind last year and average.

Sugarbeets 80 percent and rated 52 percent good to excellent.

Winter wheat is 80 percent planted, 68 percent emerged and rated 50 percent fair.
