Millions in new sales coming from West Africa trade mission

A USDA trade mission to West Africa this week is bringing home millions in news sales.

Deputy Secretary Steve Censky says more than 40 representatives of US food and ag products have held nearly 500 business meetings with potential buyers.

“We have generated 12-month sales that are projected to be at least $11.5 million and we expect that number to grow again as there is more follow on.”

Censky says the interest from West Africa goes beyond food. He says livestock groups are also there to discuss the market for better livestock genetics and ethanol leaders are exploring opportunities to replace fuel octane boosters.
