Minnesota Biofuels Association celebrates E15 milestone

The Minnesota Biofuels Association is celebrating a significant milestone.

Executive director Brian Werner says there are now 500 E15 fueling stations in Minnesota.

“I think that’s a pretty big accomplishment. That’s roughly 25 percent of all of the fuel stations in the state of Minnesota now offer E15.”

He tells Brownfield 2025 should be a big year for E15 because of the EPA waiver allowing year-round sales in eight Midwestern states including Minnesota.

“That rulemaking was finalized by the federal EPA earlier this year, so that will then now go into effect. So Minnesotans will be able to purchase E15 permanently year-round starting in April of next year.”

Werner says the association continues to advocate for a nationwide E15 standard.
