Minnesota dairy farmer hoping for sustained price improvement

A Minnesota dairy farmer is hoping for market stability in 2025.

Dan Glessing of Waverly tells Brownfield milk prices were okay this year.

“But at the end of the day we do need to see some sustained higher prices in order for (dairy) businesses to continue on. Looking forward, I’ve heard 2025 is going to be better (and) hoping that is the case.”

He says it’s not good when production pushes processing.

“So anything we can do to expand the processing capacity here in the state would be good.”

Glessing is the president of Minnesota Farm Bureau and spoke to Brownfield during the organization’s annual meeting in Minneapolis last month.
