Minnesota farmer not concerned about lodging with harvest about a month away

A farmer in southwest Minnesota is not concerned about lodging as corn nears maturity.

Bryan Biegler of Lake Wilson says the crop looks good.

“What I’ve been out looking at seems to be rooted pretty well.”

He tells Brownfield harvest is still a few weeks away.

“Our beans, last week they kind of started (to) change, you could see some yellow leaves on them. The corn even has been making a change now, so I would say within a month we’re probably going to be seeing some stuff getting going around here.”

Biegler says nearly ideal growing conditions should result in excellent yields this fall.
