Missouri ag leaders fuel FFA Foundation growth

The director of the Missouri FFA Foundation says Missouri’s ag industry is stepping up to invest in its future workforce.

Heather Dimitt-Fletcher tells Brownfield in its first five years, the Missouri FFA Foundation has increased funding for ag education programs, from classroom to career, by 300 percent with the help of private donors.

“We are going to have some new programs coming out soon that other people can support. Some that’ll be for beef producers to be involved with. Lots of new things that will be coming out in the future, and it’s growing in leaps and bounds.”

Dimitt-Fletcher says there’s a lot of unified support in Missouri, which is encouraging, and she tells Brownfield…

“Missouri agriculture has a deep heart, a strong heart, and I think that we’re going to see some things stay the same and we’re going to see a lot of things change. And I think we are really helping students learn the skills they’re going to need to be able to embrace that change and maybe even drive some of themselves.”

Brownfield interviewed Dimitt-Fletcher at the Missouri State FFA Convention.
