Missouri crops maturing quickly

Missouri crops experienced warmer and drier conditions than normal last week.

The USDA says corn and soybeans are progressing ahead of the five-year average with 96 percent of corn in the dough stage, 76 percent dented, and 16 percent mature.  Condition is rated 41 percent good to excellent.  Soybeans are 97 percent blooming and 89 percent setting pods with condition rated 49 percent good to excellent.

Cotton setting bolls reached 95 percent and condition is 75 percent good to excellent.

Rice is now 91 percent headed with condition 81 percent good to excellent.
