Missouri dairy farmer: People need to see this

June is Dairy Month. Southwest Missouri dairy farmer Lloyd Gunter is hosting tours of his dairy farm near Conway, he tells Brownfield, because it’s important.

“When you have hands-on or eye-on contact by seeing what’s there, it’s so much better than reading it in a book somewhere” Gunter told Brownfield Friday. “Even these students in college, they need to come out and see a facility to see exactly what is out here.”

The Missouri Dairy Association and several agribusinesses sponsor the event to promote dairy consumption and dairy production. Missouri consumes more milk annually than its dairy farmers produce. Gunter is president of the Missouri Dairy Association.
