Missouri farmer looks forward to sunshine

Planting is wrapped up for north-central Missouri farmer Cody Brock.

He tells Brownfield there have only been small setbacks. “We just kind of keep getting this little 10th or 2/10ths and 3/10ths inch of rain,” he says. “It’s way cooler than we usually have been for this time of year, we kind of need some sunshine, honestly to get things growing.”

Brock says next week’s forecast will be beneficial. “We need some sunshine, but things will take off here pretty quick,” he says. “Looks like it’s supposed to warm up here in the next week. Get these little showers soaked up and these things will be growing like crazy.”

Now that planting is finished, he says managing weeds is his top priority.
