Missouri Soybean Association president welcomes potential aid, calls for stronger export markets

A farmer in west-central Missouri says another round of economic assistance for farmers would be welcomed, but it’s not a long-term solution.

Cody Brock from Carroll County tells Brownfield “It’s about input prices compared to our commodity prices. If we can get our trade opened up and get some more foreign customers there, and try to get a a control on the never-stop inflating input prices.”

Brock says it’s good to see China following through on its purchase commitments, and he took advantage of the grain market’s response higher ahead of fall harvest.

“Two weeks ago I sold some beans for $12 a bushel. It’s been a couple years since I did that.”

Brock was recently elected as the president of the Missouri Soybean Association, and says he looks forward to serving the state’s farmers.
