Missouri State Fair prepares for patriotic 2026 celebration, 125th anniversary countdown

The director of the Missouri State Fair says there’s a lot for fairgoers to celebrate at the 10-day event in mid-Missouri.

Jason Moore tells Brownfield “The first thing you’re probably going to notice when you come on the grounds is obviously the red, white and blue to go along with our Show Me Stars and Stripes theme. We’ve got bunting on a lot of our historic buildings and ribbon and all sorts of decorations that we’re happy to show off. But traditionally, I think we do a great job of being patriotic. We’re just going to put it in high gear this year.”

He says a Freedom 250 mobile museum will be available to visit on August 15 and 16. Veterans will be honored daily during the fair, and there are new events and buildings to explore, like the Michael L. Parson Arena.

There’s also another big celebration coming to Missouri in 2027.

“We’ll celebrate 125 years. We’re already working on it, but I hope people are planning their trip to the Missouri State Fair for next August as well.”

The 2026 Missouri State Fair is August 13 through 23 in Sedalia.
