Missouri Supreme Court clears way for Callaway Farrowing
A large hog farrowing operation proposed for central Missouri has the go-ahead from the Missouri Supreme Court. The state’s high court denied a request to review an appeals court ruling in favor of the hog farm.
A group called Friends of Responsible Agriculture that opposes the 10,000-sow operation filed the legal challenge to its construction. With the Missouri Supreme Court ruling, Eichelberger Farms of Wayland, Iowa, can go ahead with the facility.
The operation, known as Callaway Farrowing, is to be built on 20 acres south of Interstate 70 west of Kingdom City.
