MN Industrial Hemp Association airs interim final hemp rule concerns

The Minnesota Industrial Hemp Association is alerting USDA officials to concerns found in the interim final hemp rule.

Association president Dave Ladd has submitted comments to the Ag Department that claim the 15-day harvest window is to narrow.

The letter also states the sampling guidelines are too restrictive and calls the conversion rate used for compliance testing arbitrary.

Ladd says another concern is requiring FDA approval for registering laboratories.

Minnesota’s hemp pilot program had just six participants in 2016.  There are now more than 340 licensed growers and over 200 licensed hemp processors across the state.
