MO corn harvest remains ahead of average pace

Corn and rice harvest are moving along in Missouri.

USDA says 19% of the corn has been harvested for grain so far, ahead of average for this time of the year. Missouri’s corn crop is rated 33% good to excellent.

Less than 30% of Missouri’s rice crop has been harvested with 83% in good to excellent condition.

Across the state, 38% of the soybean crop is dropping leaves, well ahead of the average with the crop rated 43% good to excellent.

Under 40% of the state’s cotton bolls are opening with the cotton crop rated 57% good to excellent.

Hay and roughage supplies are rated 75% short to very short with stock water supplies rated 45% short to very short.
