MO Governor’s Conference on Ag returns this week

The Missouri Governor’s Conference on Agriculture is returning Thursday with a fully in-person event after a year off in 2020 due to COVID.

The event will include several talks on topics like ag policy, an ag economic outlook, farm succession plans and commodity panel discussion. Missouri Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn tells Brownfield its vital state ag leaders get the chance to meet with producers directly at events like this.

“To be up close and personal with our Lieutenant Governor Kehoe, with Governor Parson, with me, with my team here at the Department of Agriculture because many of my team members will be there,” she said. “We want to be accessible; we want people to be able to ask us questions.”

Chinn tells says the conference is a place for Missouri ag producers to see old friends, meet new ones and celebrate the accomplishments of Missouri agriculture.

“If you look at 2020 and 2021, the one thing every Missouri farmer and rancher had was grit and determination,” she said. “This is going to be a great opportunity to celebrate that grit and determination.”

On-site registration opens Thursday morning at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach.
