Moderate weather helps Kentucky crop condition

Cooler temperatures and above-normal rainfall helped improve crop conditions in Kentucky. 

Corn improved to 67 percent good to excellent, with 54 percent in the dent stage and 5 percent mature.  Soybeans improved to 66 percent good to excellent with 88 percent blooming, 77 percent setting pods, and 21 percent coloring.

Tobacco is 86 percent blooming, 69 percent topped, and 15 percent cut, 76 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. 

Pasture conditions also improved with 63 percent good to excellent and forage regrowth has benefited from the moderate temperatures.
