Most South Dakota winter wheat is good to excellent

South Dakota topsoil moisture is 100 percent adequate to surplus.

Four percent of the state’s corn is planted, compared to 19 percent last year, and well behind the 54 percent five-year average.

Winter wheat is 68 percent good to excellent.

Spring wheat planting is 46 percent complete, well behind the 88 percent average. Pastures are 70 percent good to excellent.
