MU Climatologist – no drought here
While producers in many states are dealing with drought conditions that can’t be said for Missouri. Pat Guinan is the University of Missouri State Climatologist.
“Generally, things are looking good for soil moisture. In fact, saturated, for that matter. There’s NO drought whatsoever impacting our state because of the wet conditions.”
Severe weather across much of the state is giving way to very cool temperatures with lows temperatures into the 40s in northern Missouri over the coming days.
He says another front could be headed this way.
“There are indications that another system may perhaps impact western Missouri as we go into Memorial Day. But a little bit warmer temperatures, also.”
Guinan gave his weather update during the MU Forage Town Hall on Thursday.
