NAFTA breakthrough coming?
U.S., Mexican trade officials resume bilateral talks on the North American Free Trade Agreement today in Washington.
The countries have been in talks for the past several weeks, trying to resolve issues including auto manufacturing in Mexico.
There are reports that President Trump could announce a deal with Mexico, but an official with the U.S. Trade Representative’s office says there are still several issues to work out.
Some analysts say the talks with Mexico could pressure Canada to reach a revised NAFTA soon. Canada has not been involved in the face-to-face talks in recent weeks.
