NASDA: Why ag should be more focused on productivity

The CEO of AgriNovus Indiana says now is the time for the industry to focus on advancing productivity.

Mitch Frazier says farmers can benefit from increased efficiency.

“This is the only economy in the world that touches every person on the planet,” he says. “The need to innovate, the need to find new solutions, to find ways where we can improve performance, and we can improve net farm income. Those two halves of a whole have to exist together.”

He tells Brownfield the future of ag relies on sustainability.

“Half of it has to be environmental sustainability, and that is really important, but it also has to be farm sustainability, economic sustainability,” he says. “How do we make sure that the things that we’re doing, whether it’s raising animals or whether it’s raising crops, that they can actually generate new net farm income?”

Brownfield interviewed Frazier at the 2024 NASDA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana.
