NCBA ‘disappointed’ to see Pruitt go
The head of government affairs for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Colin Woodall, says they’re disappointed that EPA administrator Scott Pruitt has resigned.
Woodall says they had a “great relationship” with Pruitt.
“We hate to see him go because he has done a lot to help roll back the over-burdensome regulations from EPA, especially all of his work on Waters of the United States,” Woodall says. “So he really has done a lot of great work for cattle producers while he has been the administrator of the EPA.”
But Woodall doesn’t expect to see much change in environmental policy.
“I think that’s just a function of the President himself. I don’t think he’s going to nominate anybody who is going to let off the pedal of rolling back regulations.”
Woodall says the controversies surrounding Pruitt and the political divide in Washington may make it “a little bit harder” for the next EPA nominee. But he’s also confident the next administrator will be confirmed “in a timely manner”.
