Nebraska farmer says soybean yields are beating the average
Soybean harvest is underway for northeast Nebraska farmer Greg Anderson.
“I’m seeing yields well above APH. I haven’t had a whole field to measure yet. I’ll be looking forward to getting those scale tickets and adding those up. I’m looking at high 60s, low 70s, mid 70s and upwards.”
The USDA says 11 of soybeans have been harvested, and 85 percent have dropped leaves.
Anderson says the moisture level is nearly perfect. “This year we’re finding a lot more beans in the 12-13 percent range. That’s very, very good to take those to the elevator.”
Corn harvest is 11 percent completed, and 64 percent is mature.
