Nebraska winter wheat rated 65% good to excellent

The USDA says weather conditions have been favorable for farmers in Nebraska.

The state’s first crop progress report of the season says topsoil moisture supplies are rated 63% adequate to surplus with subsoil profiles 47% adequate to surplus.

USDA says the state’s winter wheat crop is rated 65% good to excellent.

Oat planting reached 12% completion on Sunday, ahead of 6% this time last year and the five-year average pace of 5%. Two percent of the crop has emerged.
