New app designed for speciality crop growers helps lower sustainable ag barriers
A Purdue University ag economist says the HortCalculator, a first of its kind research tool, helps growers identify alternative crop protection strategies.
Ariana Torres tells Brownfield…
“How much more money are you going to have to spend, but also how much more money are you going to make and what is the return on that investment?”
She says the tool can also help improve record keeping.
“We’re going to be able to tell them if you’re going to do this investment, if you’re going to change it, or if you’re going to grow a crop, what is it going to look like for you financially?”
Torres says the HortCalculator app will be available to growers starting next spring.
