Elanco Animal Health’s new global headquarters in Indianapolis will strengthen its roll in agriculture and animal health.

Elanco Animal Health’s president and CEO Jeff Simmons says the move is part of the state’s new OneHealth Innovation District.

“Purdue University, a startup tech lab, a functional vet clinic that’s going to be like a Mayo Clinic, as well as an incubator, and a funder are all going to be part of what’s going to bring more innovation that’s going to cross human, animal, plant and environmental health,” he says.

Daniel DeLaurentis is Purdue University’s executive vice president for research.

“It’s not just about the research, it’s that talent attraction,” he says. “The facility, the students, the entrepreneurial companies that choose to be here.”

Indiana Governor Mike Braun says the facility will help drive economic development across the state.

“The synergy that comes from this and that idea of stretching it beyond health into other areas can stretch from the region all the way through,” he says.

The grand opening also includes the relocation of more than 700 employees from the company’s Greenfield, Indiana location to the new facility.
