South Dakota State University has created the Rick Wahlstrom Chair in Swine Production to support research, teaching and swine science leadership.
Wahlstrom served at SDSU for 36 years as a swine professor and animal science department head.
The endowed chair will be filled for the upcoming school year and will be appointed by SDSU leadership. The endowment will help SDSU keep a strong expert in swine science for many years to conduct research and help the university work closely with the pork industry.
