New health plans coming to MOFB in 2026
Missouri Farm Bureau will start taking applications for its new health plans in the New Year.
“This has been a need that has been a long time coming.”
It took three years for the plans to get approval and MOFB President Garrett Hawkins says it operates outside of the Affordable Care Act.
“Our most robust plans are going to have preventative services, prescription coverage, dental, vision. They’re going to be robust.”
He says there’s an application process and medical underwriting that will happen on the front end.
“The reality is we will have to say no to a few so we can say yes to a lot of members.”
Hawkins says applications will be accepted starting January 1. You must be a Missouri Farm Bureau member for 30 days to apply for coverage.
It took three years for Missouri Farm Bureau to get approval from the state legislator for the health plans. Missouri is now one of 12 states that offer health plans to members.
