New IFCA interim president plans to use experience to guide the organization

Jason Solberg - interim president of IFCA

The new interim president of the Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association (IFCA) says he plans to lean on his twelve years of experience to help guide the organization into the new year.

Jason Solberg, who’s filling the role left by the departure of K.J. Johnson to the Illinois Soybean Association, tells Brownfield, “I sort of worked a hybrid role and then eventually became director of programs and compliance.”  He says, “I got my feet wet with the programs, the trainings, the communications that we put out with IFCA.”

He says it’s an important time in the industry as retailers and applicators cope with farmers potentially cutting back on budgets.

“A lot of conversations I know will take place on the economy specifically.”  He says, “This is always going to be an important topic given the landscape of the industry and the economy.”

Solberg says IFCA is currently accepting applications for the organization’s next president, with a decision expected in the first quarter of this year.

The Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association annual convention is January 20th – 22nd in Peoria.
