New IL FFA officer team elected
Illinois FFA has a new state officer team.
Trenton Payne, of the Olney FFA Chapter, has been elected the new Illinois FFA president. “As soon as they announced the name, I was in pure disbelief. I couldn’t believe it was me. It’s a crazy feeling seeing all of those members cheering and that was just a wonderful feeling. Just amazing.”
The new Illinois FFA vice president, Brody Will, of the Dietrich FFA Chapter, tells Brownfield their team plans to be active. “(It’s) a chance to go to all of these places that are so much different and then the students themselves are so much different. Getting to explore everyone’s backgrounds and their stories is something that I really want to take into consideration this next year.”
Sidney Stiers, of the Williamsfield FFA Chapter, says her new role of state reporter is a chance to give back. “So many major state officers don’t really realize the impact that they’ve had on my life. It was their support that pushed me to do that next thing, or was their inspiration that encouraged me to try that new activity.”
Owen Torrance, of West Prairie, was elected state secretary, and Emma Dinges, of Amboy, was elected state treasurer.
The 96th Illinois FFA Convention is underway in Springfield.
