New officer team elected to lead Illinois FFA

A new slate of state officers has been elected to represent Illinois FFA. 

Bryer Nelson, of Canton, is the 2026 Illinois FFA President.

“Amazing. I mean, it was pure shock, pure awe that I was elected.”  He says, “I couldn’t quite hear the name, so I was just kind of pushed on stage and it was pure awe.”

Collin Johnson, of Franklin, will serve the next year as state Vice President.

“I’m the 6th generation of my family’s corn and soybean operation, but I’m the first to wear the blue jacket,” he says.

Haven Cash, of North Clay, was elected as Reporter and says the new team has a goal of visiting as many of the state’s members as possible.

“Just being that person for younger members as the people before me had been to me.”  She says, “It’s so important that impact is beneficial in the first few years of your membership.”

Owen Rigg, of Williamsfield, new state Secretary, tells Brownfield…

“This is the organization that’s going to prepare you for your future.”  He says, “There’s no other organization like it.”

Also elected were Lane Perry, of Marshall, as Treasurer and Levi German, of Nokomis, as Sentinel.
