New research links PRRS infection to gastric ulcers in pigs

Boehringer Ingelheim senior key account veterinarian Dr. JD Fiechtner says new research has identified a connection between Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) infection and gastric ulcer development in pigs.

Speaking to Brownfield at World Pork Expo in Des Moines Wednesday, he said vaccination can help reduce mortality, improve average daily gain and prevent gastric ulcers in PRRS-challenged pigs.
